Got up early to head out to snowboard!
The ladies made ham and cheese sandwich for us to pack. How nice! (: Thank you!
So shortly after, we hit the road!
Harry, Alan and Stephanie went on a snowmobile tour thing while Lionel and I went to Sierra At Tahoe to snowboard! 45USD for equipment rental + lesson and a ski lift pass. Not bad eh?
We were there pretty early. Just bumming around after renting the equipment until 10 o'clock where the lesson begins. First we learnt to do a J turn using your heels or your toes to tip the board just a little so you can turn and stop. It was pretty hard to catch at first. Tiring as well because we had to 'skate' up a gradient so that we have enough momentum to perform a J turn. The skating (like a skateboard) was tiring! My right leg was really giving way. (Need to exercise).
After learning the J turn, we had to learn the horizontal one. Forgot what the name of the skill was but it was easier than the J turn for me. After which we got on to leaning how to do the falling leave, which in that horizontal position, you go from left to right and left again like a falling leaf. Interesting!
A few more practices and we were on the ski lift up to a steeper slope and then the lesson was pretty much over (since it was basic) and we were on our own.
Went down a couple of times trying to get used to doing the tip-toe down and changing from left to right, 360 degrees while going down the slope. Pretty awesome dude~
We snowboarded till 3. 5 hours straight and Lionel was exhausted. Harry picked up up at 4 and we head back home to shower and rest. Lionel crashed straight after. By dinner time both our faces started to turn red. Man it was burning hot because of the sun.
The ladies cooked dinner again, this time it was maggie mee! Yum yum!
Thanks for dinner again!
After dinner, Harry, Stephanie and Lionel went to safe way to grab some lotion for our burnt faces while I stayed back to rest. So we applied and applied a couple of layers before we slept. It was pretty uncomfortable. Now you know the sun ain't something to play around with.
Here's how bad mine was.
Goodnight!
Spencer.
