GODSPELL!

Helped out South San Francisco High School for their High school musical.
NOPE, not those zac efron and vanessa hudgen type of high school musical, i bet the first thing that come to your mind is that. HAHAHHAHA

Its a musical called “GODSPELL” I guess is an adaptation because me and spencer saw the soundtrack of GODSPELL. Its kind of a low budget production all did by themselves and its good! The actors are all really into it (Y) and of cause the natural ang moh accent enhance the show. HAHHAHA

So we transported the equipments to the school and set it up, they have 2 shows. So i was in charge of the sound, actually my part was really easy because we just direct out the sound from their mixer and i just make sure the over all recording level don’t peak to distortion and i do anything about the mix also. So after awhile i got bored and spencer is busy with 3 cameras setting, so i helped him with 1. Hahahaha i feel like a slacker.

The set up was 4 cameras at different angles, one mixer (which I’m station), 3 CCU (spencer) that control the iris of the video cams, tricaster (damn stressful position to be in) and a direction which is mr phil!! :)

Some problems face during the show, the dvd recorder mess up and we miss a few mins for the first half of the start actually. I guess is just unlucky with technology. And some times my reaction for the CCU iris is a bit slow, so the screen recorded seem dark. I should have been more focus and pay attention to the screen.

They have this very efficient setup, after video all (the tricaster is just to switch takes from cameras) they will burn into CDs and start selling right after the show. We also bring a 11 rack burner there to burn. hahahhaa how fast.

The setting up was long so is the tearing down and putting the right equipment to the right place and to make sure we bring everything back.

The 2 shows one at 2pm and one 8pm so during the interval we went to ms lisoon and mr harry’s house

The experience was priceless! The busy days here really make me feel so motivated to work even harder and make sure i enjoy what i do in the future.

I am still so thankful I’m here. :)
